Welcome to the McCarthy Library's 2022 LibGuide for the celebration of LGBTQIA+ History Month! This year especially, we feel that remembering LGBT+ history is especially important in the face of hostility directed towards the LGBTQ+ community, especially at trans, gender-queer, and gender non-comforming members of our community. The McCarthy Library is proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community and stands against bigotry and hatred.

American LGBTQ+ Museum
The American LGBTQ+ Museum preserves, investigates, and celebrates the dynamic histories and cultures of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people, as well as those of the emergent and adjacent identities among LGBTQ+ communities.

GLBT Historical Society Museum
The GLBT Historical Society Museum, located in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro District, is the first stand-alone museum of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender history and culture in the United States. It celebrates San Francisco’s vast queer past through dynamic and surprising exhibitions and programming.
LGBTQ Connection
LGBTQ Connection is a community organization offers services and events designed to support the LGBTQ+ community in Napa and Sonoma Counties and throughout the North Bay.

LGBTQ Connection exists to foster a healthy, diverse and inclusive community, driven by emerging leaders in the rural and suburban north SF Bay Area.
