The American Statistical Association (ASA) is a scientific and educational society founded in 1839 to foster excellence in the use and application of statistics to the biological, physical, social and economic sciences. ASA's 17,000 members serve the industrial, governmental and academic sectors. The ASA publishes eight journals, conducts scientific conferences, fosters a continuing education program, and is very active in bringing statistical education to elementary and secondary schools.
