Welcome to the McCarthy Library's 2023 LibGuide for the celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month! This year we feel that remembering LGBTQ+ history is especially important in the face of hostility directed towards the LGBTQ+ community, particularly at trans, gender-queer, and gender non-conforming members of our community. The McCarthy Library is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community and stands against bigotry and hatred.
If you are interested in LGBTQ+ history, theory, or learning, please check out Napa Valley College's Pride Learning Community, which offers a multi-semester learning experience aimed at exploring queer identities in a safe, productive, and educational environment, as well as providing support to LGBTQ+ students.
For more LGBTQIA+ resources on campus, we encourage students to reach out to the LGBTQ+ Pride Center, which is currently hosted on Canvas. A valid Napa Valley College email address is required to enroll in the Pride Center course on Canvas.
