Welcome to the McCarthy Library's 2023 LibGuide for the celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month! This year especially, we feel that Pride is an important celebration and statement in the face of hostility directed at trans and gender-queer members of our community. The McCarthy Library is proud to support LGBTQIA+ Pride and stands against bigotry and hatred.

For more LGBTQIA+ resources on campus, we encourage students to reach out to the LGBTQ+ Pride Center, which is currently hosted on Canvas. A valid Napa Valley College email address is required to enroll in the Pride Center course on Canvas.

American LGBTQ+ Museum
The American LGBTQ+ Museum preserves, investigates, and celebrates the dynamic histories and cultures of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people, as well as those of the emergent and adjacent identities among LGBTQ+ communities.

GLBT Historical Society Museum
The GLBT Historical Society Museum, located in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro District, is the first stand-alone museum of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender history and culture in the United States. It celebrates San Francisco’s vast queer past through dynamic and surprising exhibitions and programming.
Solano Pride Center
Headquartered in Fairfield CA, Solano Pride offeres a variety of community building, recreational, and informational activities, including an information and referral line, a speakers bureau, and weekly groups for women, men, and youth.
LGBTQ Connection
LGBTQ Connection, an initiative fueled by youth and other emerging leadership, fosters a healthier, more vibrantly diverse and inclusive community. Each year, LGBTQ Connection engages 3,500 LGBTQ people, their families and community, and trains 500 providers from local organizations across Northern California to increase the safety, visibility and well being of LGBTQ residents.
