Black History Month 2024: The March Graphic Novel Trilogy (Feb 2024): March: Book 3 Resources

Introduction

This third book of the trilogy covers many important events from the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church to the Freedom Summer in Mississippi to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to the passage of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 to Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama to Malcolm X's assassination to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 before returning to President Barrack Obama's inauguration.  The articles and online resources on this page provide information on many of the people, places, and events that Lewis mentions, and the books cover different aspects of the Civil Rights movement and the struggle for equality.  It is difficult to cover everything mentioned in the third book, but every effort was made to cover as much as possible.  If you would like suggestions for further resources, please do not hesitate to consult one of our friendly, neighborhood NVC librarians!
