What is Geology?

Geology is concerned with the dynamic nature of our planet including: rocks and minerals, mountain building processes, volcanoes, faulting, plate tectonics, earthquakes, geologic time as well as surface land forming processes.  It also includes the study of earth-sun relationships, maps, global time, oceans, soils, natural vegetation, weather, and climatic regions of the world.

Use this Geology LibGuide to find authoritative sources for the study of geology.  If you are unable to find what you need, please consult a NVC McCarthy Library reference librarian.
