Based in Washington DC, the ICA aims to advance the scholarly study of human communication by encouraging and facilitating excellence in academic research worldwide. Publishes the Journal of Communication, Human Communication Research, Communication Theory, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication and Communication, Culture, & Critique.

The ILA is a professional organization whose members are dedicated to learning more about the impact that listening has on all human activity. ILA was formed in 1979 to promote the study, development, and teaching of effective listening in all settings.

NCA is the oldest and largest national organization to promote communication scholarship and education.

This is a forum for professional discussion and presentation of research in the areas of communication, language and gender. OSCLG is also affiliated with the journal Women and Language.
